Turkey’s Erdogan threatened to flood Europe with migrants: Greek website

It’s from a Greek website, which should give us at least a few seconds pause, but the tone of the conversation reported sounds so typical of our increasingly unhinged Padishah that I’m tempted to believe it:

“We can open the doors to Greece and Bulgaria anytime and we can put the refugees on buses … So how will you deal with refugees if you don’t get a deal? Kill the refugees?” Erdogan was quoted in the text as telling the EU officials.

The Turkish leader was also quoted as telling Juncker, a former prime minister of tiny Luxembourg, to show more respect to the 80-million-strong Turkey. “Luxembourg is just like a little town in Turkey,” he was quoted as saying.

Read the rest here at Reuters.

Addendum: a reader writes:

“No, it’s true. The latest meeting between European officials and Erdogan trying to settle a refugee deal left empty handed with Erdogan having mocked and humiliated all of them.  You can read about it in mainstream news outlets too.”

And yet they all kowtow to him.  No one stands up to Turkey.  Compare this episode with how free European officials felt to humiliate and mock and threaten Greek political leaders last summer.
