Εξέδυσάν με τα ιμάτιά μου,
και ενέδυσάν με χλαμύδα κοκκίκην,
έθηκαν επί την κεφαλήν μου στέφανον εξ ακανθών,
και επί την δεξιάν μου χείρα έδωκαν κάλαμον,
…ίνα συντρίψω αυτούς ως σκεύη κεραμέως.
They stripped me of my clothing,
and tossed a scarlet robe around me.
They set upon my head a crown of thorns,
And put a hollow cane, a sceptre in my right hand…
so that I may shatter them like potter’s vessels.
